Planning, never my strong suit, is being applied to our 7 week-old’s future career……

Andie is already 7 weeks old now and, as you can tell from my lack of posting, quite a time-suck.  Don’t get me wrong, I love it and all the changes and development the little one is going through.  In her 7 weeks on the planet she’s gone from an 8 and a half pound newborn that appeared to have a father of Asian-descent (did you see how black her hair was??), to someone that I can confidently say is my offspring.

Ok, so our baby didn't look quite this Asian... but close!

I’m 6’7″ and Maggie is 5’8″ – so it stands to reason that we would have tall progeny, and Andie is growing like  a weed.  This past weekend we broke out the 3 month old clothes for the heat wave we (very briefly) experienced here in Seattle and they fit perfectly.

Yikes, this got me thinking about all of the questions I field regularly about Andie’s future pursuits, whether they be in WNBA or super modeling or both.  She is destined to be tall, and we really should start the pageant circuit, shouldn’t we!?!?  We need to be prepared….  AAAAAAAAAAAAA!

If we are going to get her “out there” we should start with those grooming habits.  She generally has a nice film of breast-milk evenly distributed accross her body, but that gives her a nice sheen for the camera – we’ll keep that.

Generally speaking, we like to keep all of our “pets” nails at a long to very long level.  Friday the dog can file her own nails by running on pavement for great distances, so why should we trim them?  The cat, well, based on his catting about and catfighting prowess, it would be wrong for us to deal with those.  Andie is our most exotic pet and to be frank, we have been letting the nails get a little long.

Check them out here:

They are almost long enough to put nail polish on! We'll make sure that nail polish goes with the rest of her makeup though!!! Wouldn't want her to look trashy...

In some ways you could say this is being a neglectful parent, but I was thinking more about it, and if she truly wants a career in showbiz (and it’s pretty obvious she does), what better way then to have her break a world record.  Great press and accolades are sure to follow quickly thereafter.

Forgetting about all the cash and prizes, think about how cool it would look if by the time she’s this ladies age, she’ll have finger nails twice as long!!!

As always we appreciate your thoughts and comments.

Well, that’s why I’m soliciting feedback, you think it’s gross, yet obviously this woman has garnered some serious notoriety from her long nails, ergo, it’s not gross…. it’s grossly underappreciated.

You’ve got it all wrong…our girls are going to be on a doubles beach volleyball team in the Summer Olympics in about 18 years (or whenever the Summer games roll around when they are old and talented enough, don’t make me do math). They could supermodel together in the off-season. We could all retire early and roll around in their collective winnings.

Whitney, you are absolutely right, that’s why I’m opening dialog now… I see them being talented enough in the next couple of months. I think the real money will be in tennis, so I’m shipping Andie off to Florida when she’s 2 or 3 to go to a tennis academy. I’m sure she’ll turn out fine!
