Pulling it out…

I was pretty excited to hear from Peter in class Tuesday about the developments of pull out screens on moibile devices.  That is awesome for taking anything in.  Reading specifically will go from the cumbersomely slow task of getting paragraph to paragraph to just like reading a paperback.  To me this seems like the last stand for paper.  Why have the kindle, ipod, browser when you can have the kindle, ipod, browser…PHONE.  http://www.engadget.com/2009/11/12/wistron-readius-like-ereader-with-pull-out-flexible-display-lau/

Wistron ereader with pull-out flexible display launching in 2010

The pull out screen to me seems to be the last frontier in mobile UI.  The only thing that I complain about my phone (besides AT&T of course) is that reading is a pain.  For the ederly or hard of site, this would be a serious deterent.  This development will alleviate and provide the last reason to hold out on mobile technology… besides keyboards.
